This is a great example of a Town Hall Meeting on a large scale. With rising fatalities from truck related accidents, Waste Management knew that something had to be done and a message had to be sent to all levels quickly. From the CEO to the VPS of Operations, Health and Safety, HR, the CFO and down this meeting was designed with a very somber message, "Only Zero Incidents is acceptable." It also took place about a month after 911 which increased the atmosphere. We took a large empty studio, incorporated two new garbage trucks and a large screen over the hoods. Brought in a stage, carpeting, chairs for 100, refreshments, and created and hung banners around the room as a solemn reminder of the price we all pay when accidents happen. We then lit the set and provided complete video operations to capture this carefully produced meeting. As part of the project we produced a series of videos from this Safety Townhall Meeting that were distributed to over 40,000 employees. Video includes over 2 minutes of video clips from the meeting.
