Waste Management needed to improve its safety record. As part of it's annual management meeting in Las Vegas, the Company launched its M2Z program or "Mission 2 Zero". Our production department took it to the road and shot several sequences inside the Mandaly Bay Hotel. One sequence simulated astronauts walking down a long corridor on the way to the shuttle. We actually rented the same costumes as used in Mission to Mars. We shot several interviews on green screen and then matted in actual shuttle pictures for the opening video. The show was a 45 minute session that was repeated three times by the VP of Safety who wore an astronaut costume on stage. This project was a great of example of the use of a creative theme in a live event to communicate a vital safety message.
