On Saturday, August 13, 2005, six event industry professionals from Houston received international recognition when they won the Best Team Effort at the 2005 Esprit Awards in Los Angeles, California. Deborah Elias, CSEP, CMP of Elias Events, Jan Rocco of Party Props, Inc., Paul-David Van Atta of the Hilton Americas, Ellen Ramsey of Let If Fly Events, Mia Monroe of Social Butterfly Special Events , and James Mackey of Stage Directions were all recipients of the event industry’s prestigious award.
The team produced the 2004 Houston Special Event Awards, which honored Jordy Tollett, president of the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau. The main design incorporated the theme, Houston…A Space of Infinite Possibilities.
Elias, who accepted the award on behalf of the team, said, “I was so proud to be apart of such a wonderful event and for it to be recognized on an international level is truly exciting. We have amazing event industry professionals in Houston, and it was an honor to be a winner along with this incredibly gifted team.”.
